Harry Potter - And The Sorcerer's Stone
Harry Potter’s Wand

Creating the Harry Potter Wand was not accomplished in my studio. It was created at a friend's home as part of a group project along with other Wands.
Images were taken but due to a camera read error no pictures were able to be downloaded.

To make the Harry Potter wand is simple.
I first started off planning on how to make the Harry Potter wand. After I did my research I began my recreation of the wand.
I took a piece of 7/16” dowel rod and cut it to 11 ½” long. I then tapered the dowel rod. The base end is 7/16” and the tip is 5/16”. This is the shaft of the wand.

Then I started on the handle of the wand. I took a piece of 5/8” dowel rod and cut it to 4” long.
To finish the handle of the wand I bought two wooden spacers and rounded the edges. Then I glued it to the handle. Then handle is now complete.

After I had the basics of Harry Potter’s wand I glued everything together to make it look as one piece. After the glue dried I sanded the entire wand down with 400-grit sandpaper to make it all smooth and seamless. I then stained the wand Dark Walnut.

After the stain was dry I sprayed a coat of Clear Satin on the wand to protect the finish.

Here is my recreation of Harry Potter’s Wand.
